When Avid Hawk LLC set out to build a platform celebrating the creative arts — through professional glamour photography, video, articles, and more — one of the first questions we faced was simple: what do we call it? The name needed to be distinctive, meaningful, and true to our vision. Posed Beret delivered on all three, and it served us well.
But brands evolve. As we expanded into music, poetry, short stories, opinion pieces, and beyond, we felt the time was right for a name that could hold everything we were becoming. That name is Posed Re.
The word Posed has always spoken directly to our craft. Great photography is built on many factors, and posing is one of the most essential — a skill, a dialogue, and an art form in itself that elevates every result. But Posed carries a deeper philosophical weight too. There's something universally human about being caught between who you are and who you're striving to become — suspended in that tension, mid-transformation. We think a lot of people know that feeling. We certainly do.
Re (pronounced "Ray") is the second note of the musical scale — and with our launch into music, it felt like a natural, fitting nod to that world. But like Posed, it reaches into deeper philosophical thinking. After all, who wouldn't want a second note in life? Re carries the idea of second chances: returning, renewing, beginning again. Even if someone pronounces it differently — as the prefix meaning "again" or "anew" — that meaning fits just as beautifully, with its connotations of restoration, improvement, and rebirth. Together, Posed Re captures something true about who we are: a brand caught in beautiful motion, always reaching, always renewing.
And yes — we'll always have a soft spot for the beret.
